Troutman is part of the Iredell-Statesville Schools system. Locally it includes Troutman Elementary and Troutman Middle School. Students then generally progress to South Iredell High School. The area also has several options for higher learning including Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (Salisbury, NC), the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Charlotte, NC), Central Piedmont Community College (Charlotte, NC), Catawba Valley Community College (Hickory, NC) and Gaston College (Dallas, NC) among others.
